The highest 8a in Europe and now legendary route „Digital Crack“ at the Grande Gendarme on the Aiguille Du Midi was repeated three times on the previous weekend. Jernej Kruder, Dirk Uhlig and Mich Kemeter were probably too bored at the World Cup in Chamonix and so the three gave themselves the honor to climb the route. The route was first freely climbed by Thierry Renault and Alain Ghersen in June 1999. Jernej Kruder, also on site climbs route „Arete des Cosmiques“ 8a on the right edge flash.
