Der junge Schweizer Alex Rohr konnte mit „The Back Of Beyond“ 9a im Schweizerischen Klettergebiet Soyhières im Basler Jura ein neue Toproute erschliessen. Die Route ist altes Projekt und stellt eine Verlängerung der Route „Jusqu‘au bout du monde“ 8c dar. Nach deren Umlenker kommt noch eine 7C+-Boulderstelle ohne vorherigen Rastpunkt. Eingebohrt hat die Route schon 1989 Phillipe Steulet!
„Yesterday I finally did the first ascent of this longstanding project in Soyhieres. I had this project in my mind for quite some time now, but I waited in order to reach the level to do the lower pitch easily. After the anchor of ‚Jusqu‘au bout du monde‘, 8c, you run into a ~7C+ boulder which is really explosive and powerful. The main problem is that there are no rests. This Route is an absolute monster and I‘m glad that I could bring this visionary line from Phillipe Steulet to life. Thanks to my @rpare for the name suggestion and @sebastianhalenke for the belays.“
