The German climber David Firnenburg repeat of the classic boulder by Fred Nicole „Dream Time “ (8B+) just before the end of the year. Dreamtime, although now graded by most ascenters with 8B+ was long considered the world’s first 8C boulder. Unfortunately, the boulder from 2001 had to undergo some „redesigns“ and is thus no longer climbable in its original form. For David, the difficulty didn’t matter, for him it was the first 8C boulder. David can look back on a successful climbing year. So he managed with „Modified “ (9a+) his second 9a+ route.
David comments: „On an easy Sunday the Christ Child came a little bit earlier this year and made David a nice Christmas present with a quick ascent of this ultra classic in Cresciano yesterday. First official Fb 8C for him. Pretty sweet end of a successful rock climbing season 2018 and a big motivational boost for the kick-off of 2019! We wish you all a merry Christmas with your beloved family and friends. Thanks for spotting and cheering David up the boulder Remo Sommer Martin Keller, Simone Raina and friends.
