At the first Lead World Cup 2018 in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland, the Austrian Jakob Schubert and the Slovenian Janja Garnbret started with a win in the 2018 season. Both also won gold in Kranj, Slovenia, at the Lead World Cup last season. Is was Jakob’s 20th World Cup in his career. The long-time competitor Romain Desgranges, who won last year four World Cups and the overall Welt Cup, finished as Second. The 22-year-old Japanese Tomoa Narasaki, the Overall World Cup winner, who finished third in the Vail Boulder World Cup in June, finished as Third. In the women’s final, the Korean Jain Kim finished als Third behind Jessica Pilz (Austria).
