The route ‚Eternal Flame‘ at the Trango Tower (IX-, UIAA) leads over 22 pitches on the south pillar to the summit. The route was first ascented on September 10, 1989 by the german climber and legends Wolfgang Güllich and his rope partner Kurt Albert. They climbed the route free, except for a few aid climbed passages to the top. They made climbing history with the route; For a long time it was the most difficult route over 5000 meters. The film is about the expedition in the summer of 2009. Franz Hinterbrandner, Mario Walder, Alexander and Thomas Huber managed the first red point ascent of ‚Eternal Flame‘ (IX + / X-, UIAA).
