Things are going really well for 18-year-old Martina Demmel. With “Klondike Cat” (XI-/ 8c) she climb her sixth 8c route this year, which is now in the Bärenschluchtwaende in Püttlachtal in Franconia (Germany). For Martina it was also the sixth (XI / 8c) route in her career, after she had climbed 5 routes of this grade in Franconia by the end of May. The route from 2001 was repeated in 2015 with Lena Herrmann, for the first female ascent.
„Endurance climb with its big lockoffs and tiny often painful crimps! The deadpoint move to the 2 fingercrimp at the 4th bolt (captured in the 1st & 3rd pic) was the stoppermove for me but once I’ve got it perfect I’ve sent the whole line directly with shaky legs! Happy to have clipped the chains in my 5th try in total even despite these humid condis on the 14th of June. Standing soo early definitely paid off to climb in the shady morning there! Directly hopped on the right exit afterwards but about this classic will be the next post, so stay tuned!!! a billion thanks for the amazing work the photographer did once again with these simply awesome shots and the fun day together especially with my send belayer @kvn_schtz“
