The twenty years old Austrian Nicolai Užnik managed a new 8C boulder with „Witchcraft“ in the near of Villach. At the same time, if the evaluation is confirmed, it was his second boulder in this grade. Nicolai needed nine sessions with what felt like „hundreds of times falling“ until he could connect all moves.
„After nine sessions and hundreds of times falling at the crux, today I was able to connect all moves and send this short and extremely powerful line. I have never put so much effort in a boulder before, which is why I am even happier about finally climbing it.“
At the beginning of December last year, Nicolai climb the 4th ascent the hardest boulder in Austria’s Maltatal, the „Sitzstartvariante zum Bügeleisen„.
