On Corpus Christi weekend, from 16 to 19 June, the PETZL Frankenjura Climbing Festival will once again take place in Königstein (Oberpfalz).

The proven open-air festival location and central meeting point is the open-air swimming pool, on whose grounds all visitors can stay overnight in their tents, buses or camper vans, have a cold drink, go swimming and meet old and new friends. This is also where the lectures and the concert take place, where you can rent equipment or simply stroll around the festival grounds with its exhibitors. And: from here, it’s only a few minutes to the surrounding crags.

A special highlight of this year’s climbing festival will certainly be the talks by Sean Villanueva, who will tell us about the first solo ascent of the Fitz Roy Traverse, and by Mélissa le Nevé, who was the first woman to climb the legendary Action Directe (11th grade). Tom Dauer will read live on stage from his Kurt Albert biography, and on Saturday evening the reggae band Jamaram will heat up the natural pool. Around 25 workshops will give you the opportunity to hone your climbing technique.
