Marcel Remy, the Swiss climber and father of the famous alpinists and first ascenter Yves and Claude Rémy, died peacefully in his sleep on February 6, 1923, in Gruyère, Switzerland, at the age of 99. Until his last day, Marcel always took to the mountains to go climbing and enjoy himself, right up to to his very last day. Marcel climbed with 96 years an 5c-route!

Marcel has inspired several generations of climbers and is a shining example of a timeless, never-ending passion for climbing and mountaineering even in old age.

Rest in peace, your awesome man.
