Alex Megos, in the moment the best german climber, reports on Instagram that he has spent five days in Allgäu having done seven routes 8c and harder including the Top-Route ‚X-Hale‘ 9a/+.
The impressive ticklist from the 5 days (with my grade suggestions):
– X-Hale (9a/+)
– Iron Dome (9a)
– Kreuzigung (8c+/9a)
– Walk of Life (8c/+)
– Bionic Commando (8c/+)
– Progression (8c)
– Out Right (8c)
– Weise bringens nicht (8b)
– Zoe (8b)
– Pro Touch (8a+/b)
„Not leaving the country can as well have its good sides! You get to explore your own country! Over the past 5 days I had the chance to visit some areas in Allgäu and climb a handful of routes from very vertical and technical to very step and powerful. Feels good to be back on rock with a rope tied around my waist!
I think X-Hale suited me very well, therefore it didn’t feel like 9a+ to me. On Iron Dome I broke off a little spike on the crux hold so it felt very solid for 9a.
Definitely had lots of fun and can’t wait to go back there at some point in the future!
