The 28-year-old Spanish climber Ignacio Mulero made the first repeat of James ‚Caff‘ McHaffie’s „The Meltdown“ 9a at Tyll Mawr, Llanberis Slate Quarries in Wales (United Kingdom). Probably one of the heaviest record climbs, even record specialist Jonny Dawes could not climb. He also bolted the route in 1986. It was James McHaffie who first climb through the route in 2012.
Ignacio, who does not have a driver’s license, ran about an hour to get started for each attempt. After some attempts in 2017, he was finally able to climb the route after 20 attempts this year.
