Barbara „Babsi“ Zangerl once again proves herself to be a specialist in heavy multi-pitcher trips. On 30 September the Austrian added another difficult multi-pitch to her score, namely the lesser known but equally difficult Sangre de Toro up Rote Wand in the Lechquellengebirge. The route was opened in 2012 from gound-up by Alex Luger, Günther Winkel, Robert Natter and Konrad Mathis. Two years later, she freed by Alex Luger. The first repetition was manages by Jacopo Larcher last year. Babsi was able to climb her first 9a with „Speed Intégrale“ this year. She also managed together with Jacopo Larcher, the first single-redpoint ascent of the route „Odysee“ (X-/8a+) in the Eiger North Face.
Zangerl described this route as „6 pitches of pure joy and some spicy runouts as well. It’s an absolutely superb route, not all too long, but each pitch is an absolute gem, in particular the crux.“
