The alpinists Seán Villanueva O’Driscoll and Jonathan Griffin first ascented a new „Kingline“ in the south face of the Cerro Chalten in Patagonia. The off-width crack (500 m, 7a) has been called ‚La Chaltenense‘, to honour El Chalten where they have been staying for the last year. The eight pitch route started via the first two pitches with the „Colorado route“ and then continues to the summit in chimney and off-width crack climbing.

For Seán Villanueva O’Driscoll it was the second highlight after the moonwalk solo traverse over the entire Fitz Roy skyline a month ago.
