With Angy Eiter, Margo Hayes and Anak Verhoeven, Julia Chanourdie is now part of the exclusive club of female climbers who climb a 9a + route. After 17 days of projecting, she managed the fourth ascent of the ‚Supercrackinette‘ route in the French climbing area of Saint-Léger. Julia proved that it is very difficult to climb when she has climbed two 9a in the past. Julia also qualified for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The route was first started by Alex Megos in 2016 and flashed by Adam Ondra in 2018. It was the first ever flash ascent of a 9a + route. „To cut a long story short, it took me 17 days to clip the chain of Super Crackinette. I didn’t plan to try this route, but my friend @baptiste_dherbilly got me motivated. I just loved it. Physically I felt really close quite fast, but mentally it was a way harder battle. I found myself falling many times on the upper crux. Little wink to @sebertheclimber for his beta on this famous crux, as hard as the original beta, but less uncertain and really demanding on finger strength (which suits me better).“ Foto: (c) Jocelyn Chavy
