The lead competition in Briançon was the first World Cup after a long corona break, which many spent in different ways. Some now turned increasingly to the natural rock again. Laura Rog0ra was the second woman to climb a 9b route and Alex Megos climbs the second 9c route in the world.
There were no real surprises with the man. In the absence of the strong Japanese, well-known names appear on the podium. Adam Ondra, who is noticeably reluctant to work in difficult projects, was able to win the first World Cup after the corona break. Jakob Schubert was third behind Domen Skofic. Alexander Megos had to be „satisfied“ with 5th place.

The Slovenian national team dominated the women’s competition. Perhaps the only surprise, that the outstanding competition climber of the past few years, Janja Garnbret, had to admit defeat to Laura Rogora, who was in outstanding form. For Jessica Pilz, the best Austrian female competitive climber, it wasn’t enough for the podium. She had to admit defeat to the surprise third Fanny Gibert.
