The 29-year-old Welshman Eliot Stephens bring his home region of Wales the first 8C boulder with „The Origin Sit“. He needed about 13 sessions for the boulder. The boulder is located in the South Welsh climbing crag Dinas Rock on the „Main crag“ and is the sitting start variant of „The Origin„. It’s powerful limestone climbing in bad holds and awkward positions.

„After a pretty wet last month in the UK, I feel pretty lucky with the weather window I had in April to climb ‘The Origin Sit’ (8C). Having to only check the weather forecast for temperature and not precipitation is pretty handy…

I tried to document just a little of the process of climbing the problem, combined with showing the climb itself in a bit more detail. The video I made is now up on the @moonclimbing YouTube channel, so head there for a butchers. I’ll have the link in my profile too.“

It this grade was to be confirmed, after „From Dirt Grows the Flowers“ (8C) last year and „Arzak“ (8C) was it his third boulder in this grade.
