Der 20-jährige Sam Blackwell konnte in der Biblins-Cave bei Gloucestershire in Südwesten Englands eine neue 8C erstbegehen. Das Problem, das er “World at War“ (8C) genannt hat, verbindet die Boulder „Godzilla Sit“ (8B) und „Spaceship“ (8B+).
Sam versuchte sich zum ersten Mal im Jahr 2020 an dem, was später World at War werden sollte, als er Godzilla klettern wollte. Er schaffte dies schon während seiner ersten Sessionund versuchte sich kurz darauf an „Spaceship“ der 8B+-Erweiterung zu „Godzilla“. Für „Spaceship“ brauchte er etwa 4 bis 5 Sessions, danach hat er sich in das Projekt gestürzt „Godzilla Sit“ und „Spaceship“ zu verbinden.

didn’t quite hit the goal of 8c before 20 but 4 days late isn’t bad I guess. Found a really good headspace on the send go it didn’t quite flow as well as some earlier attempts but I was enjoying the climbing and that got me through, learnt some cool things on this one to keep in mind moving forward.“
Die Biblins-Cave ist der Boulderhotspot in England mit immerhin drei 8C-Bouldern, neben “World at War“ auch „Ambition“ und „The World Is Yours“.
