Zach Zalla meldet bei Insta, nach Matt Fultz, Sean Bailey und Daniel Woods, die vierte Begehung des Nathaniel Coleman Boulders „Grand Illusion“ 8C+ in Little Cottonwood Canyon (USA). Für Zach war es der erste Boulder in diesem Grad.
Die 25 Züge von „Grand Illusion“ sind eines der besten und härtesten Boulderprojekte in den USA, den Low-start von „Euro Roof“, einem V13 im Little Cottonwood Canyon von Chris Sharma und wurde lange von Nathaniel Coleman und Drew Ruana letzten Sommer probiert. Letztlich schaffte Nathaniel Coleman den erfolgreichen Durchstieg des von den beiden „The Grand Illusion“ genannten Boulders. Für ihn der erste Boulder im Grad 8C+.
„Still in disbelief, after a suboptimal performance in the lead semis round today I decided to head over to the canyon and give a rip on my proj. I got there and was immediately bummed to see the bottom holds were a little damp, I was determined and dried them enough to give one go. I pulled on, my mind went blank, and the next thing I knew I was standing on top. A magical moment i’ll never forget. So grateful for the support of the @sohi_studios crew for coming out with me for so many sessions. love y’all“
